Impressive trip you're making and you really have a lot of good plans! I HIGHLY recommend going to Iceland on your way back to US. It's like landing on another planet ;-)

Make sure to do some of the excursions, there is so much amazing sights to see! If I were going to US I'd definitely do a stopover at Iceland.

I've been to Iceland before and really enjoyed it. This time I do want to get around the island a bit more. I also wish to take advantage of Icelands currency misery and buy cheap woolen goods.

Very cool. Glad to hear you'll be spending some time traveling around the US. If you're in the DC area and want to get a glimpse of the *real* Washington, drop us a line.

It's always good to stop and smell the coffee when travelling. Two years is a long time away from family. I'm an expat myself and alway try and make it back to my home country to catch up with family and friends every two years. I stay long enough for them to drive me crazy, then I leave again knowing that I won't miss them for another two years.
I'll be in the US next year, so if you are around my area - Florida it would be great to meet you.
Keep posting those wonderful photos !!

If you are planning on making a return visit to the cities, let me know. I'd love to take you up on your offer on a beer.

Well I want to sign in to showing you my hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and hell, I'll show you the whole island. Is not that big...

Lookign forward to geeking out on history, politics, geography and other topics that make these THE travel site for ppl like me!

I just may take you up on it. I definitely want to visit Puerto Rico. Americans don't need a passport, correct? You didn't need one for Guam, but I got mine stamped in American Samoa.
  • lherrero · 1 year ago
    Yep, no passport required.

Seeing how u like to travel, I think you'll need a week, week and a
half to see the cool parts, not touristy San Juan.

The main problem for off the beaten path tourism here is the lack of
    good mass transportation outside SJ.

    Nah, well work something out.

Let me know if you're doing a stop back in the Cities. I have this crazy idea of you becoming a regular on public radio :). I'm also intrigued...who would accompany you on your next venture outside of the States...

    But....but....my fear of public speaking.

I'll definitely be in the Cities.
